Some dare to dream, and others just do...but it takes a special kind of magic to bring your dreams to reality. City Farm Sandwiches & Company founder, Sam Genkov, is very familiar with this kind of magic. With over 30 years in the restaurant industry, he has played a part in creating some of Toronto’s top fine-dining establishments including Modus Ristorante and Bravi Ristorante. 

One of his favourite creations, enjoyed by devoted guests in the know, is his famous veal sandwich. Once offered as a secret off-menu item, this mouthwatering sandwich made only the occasional appearance in the world of fine-dining. But in the summer of 2020, Sam’s long-time passion project City Farm Sandwiches & Co. finally launched.

On our menu, created in collaboration with Chef Brett Turnbull, the sandwich takes centre stage as we bridge the gap between fast-casual food and healthy, sustainable eating. We are pleased to be serving sandwich lovers across Downtown Toronto.

We are a proud supporter of the local food movement and our commitment to Ontario farmers means that all of our ingredients are harvested from sustainable local food networks. We place importance on clean, organic foods, and only serve the best of the best.

Sam Genkov - Owner & Founder

Founder of the award-winning restaurants Modus Ristorante and Bravi Ristorante, Sam has over 30 years of experience in the food industry and continues to be a powerhouse restaurateur in Downtown Toronto. His enduring passion for food means he is always on the pulse of latest industry trends, but nevertheless he maintains a dedicated affection for classic, timeless cuisine. City Farm Sandwiches & Co. is his latest endeavour and answer to the challenging dining environment we face today.

Brett Turnbull - Executive Chef

With over 30 years of industry experience and a Canadian Red Seal certification for culinary excellence, Chef Turnbull has expert knowledge when it comes to all things food. After training classically in traditional French cuisine, Brett has developed his own unique style which draws upon flavours and techniques from across the globe. He has collaborated with founder Sam Genkov on the City Farm Sandwiches & Co. menu and continues to expand our signature flavours.
